This file LSDELETE.EXE is something Ad-Aware started to use. LS stands for Lavasoft, I believe. But I might be wrong because in my PC lsdelete.exe is spelled with small letters. |
 |
This is what SysInternals AutoRuns program shows for "lsdelete" on my notebook, running Windows XP Home SP2.
Location: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\BootExecute Autorun Entry: lsdelete Description: Publisher: (Verified) Lavasoft AB Image Path: c:\windows\system32\lsdelete.exe
I did have Ad-Aware 2007 installed, briefly, several months ago. Since this is a BootExecute autorun entry, I suspect this may be related to un-installing Ad-Aware... |
 |
If Ad-Aware detects a trojan sometimes it has to reboot and prevent it from loading into memory to be able to delete it. This program accomplishes that function. |
