What is cfd.exe?
This is the BroadJump Client Foundation, which is a part of their broadband troubleshooting software. It is installed by some ISPs to configure network settings and provide troubleshooting. There are reports that this software may transmit information for marketing purposes; however, officially, it does not.
This process is not essential to the operation of the system. There is no harm in killing or disabling this software By killing or disabling this process, however, you will lose the functionality that it provides. If you do not need this process, it is recommended that you uninstall the BroadJump Client Foundation Software.
Dangers of cfd
As this is a legitimate executable that is provided by many ISPs, it is possible for virus writers and spyware vendors to disguise their malware as the genuine one.
Some malicious files may have the same name as this process but be stored somewhere other than in %ProgramFiles%\Apoint.
