wnda3100.exe is the smart utility for the netgear dual band 11n wifi dongle that installs as a startup folder autorun. It is benign and only required to be left running if you regularly use the wifi dongle. There are benifits to removing it from the startup folder if using the computer without the dongle for any processor time critical apps as the program periodically consumes a few percent CPU time when it pops it head up to see if you have inserted the wifi dongle it is named after. If you do remove it from startup you can always start the utility manually if you decide to put in the wifi dongle and windows fails to make the connection without it by using the desktop or Start buttons shortcuts. |
